Located in Mark West Springs area near Safari West, owners Ted and Diane were determined to rebuild after the 2017 Tubbs fire claimed their home. They decided on a metal structure type. Working with Architect Katrina Kuhl they designed a single-story home by expanding the homes footprint from the original two story.

Soils and structural engineering required the expansion of the building pad by excavating further into the adjacent hillside and lowering the pad by four to five feet. We located an area for a concrete water tank and created the building pad for it. Areas once covered with blackberries and burnt trees were cleared for an eventual garden. The site access is a gravel drive approximately one-third of a mile. We provided grading and minor rebuilding or widening allowing construction and cement trucks their accessibility. Grading of excavated spoils were placed for the owner’s greater use and to keep a natural appearance of this property.
